First consultation at the practice

  • Nurse: Hello Mark, what can I do for you today?
  • Mark: I had a health check at the supermarket last week and the nurse there told me to see my practice nurse.
  • Nurse: Ok, let’s have a look at your results then. They show that at the time your blood pressure and cholesterol were a bit high and that you could be doing with losing some weight. Try not to worry about it though; we will do some other tests to confirm these results and these will decide if you need any treatment. It was good that you took the time to get these checks done. Is there anything worrying you about your health?
  • Mark: Well my brother had an heart attack a few weeks ago and that got me thinking about my own health and lifestyle.
  • Nurse: You have done the right thing coming along here today. Once we have all your results back we can start you on the appropriate treatment, if necessary. So first of all I am going to check your blood pressure.

Pulse point
