Rebecca’s Health Check

Complete the quiz to find out about the further health checks that Rebecca has as part of her cardiac rehabilitation assessment appointment.

Blood Pressure (BP) is the amount of force exerted by the blood against the walls of the arteries. It is measured in millimetres of mercury (mmHg) and is expressed as two numbers e.g. 120/80 mmHg. The higher number being systolic blood pressure and the lower diastolic. This will help determine if Rebecca has high blood pressure (hypertension).

Heart Rate is the number of times a heart beats in a minute, also known as pulse rate. A healthy adult’s resting heart rate is usually between 60 and 100 beats per minute (bpm), but it can vary from person to person and minute to minute. This will help determine if Rebecca’s heart rate is abnormal (arrhythmia).

Body Mass Index (BMI) is a screening tool that estimates body fat percentage based on a person’s height and weight. It’s calculated by dividing a person’s weight in kilograms by their height in meters squared. This will help determine what Rebecca’s BMI is and if her weight is considered healthy.

Menstrual History to find out when Rebecca’s last period was and if her periods are regular. This information is crucial to assess if Rebecca is perimenopausal. SCAD is associated with times of hormonal changes, particularly menopause.

Pregnancy History to find out Rebecca’s pregnancy history. This includes if she has had gestational diabetes, miscarriages, infertility and or pre-eclampsia. Pregnancy history can be an important predictor of future cardiovascular risk.
