‘I feel a bit more confident now’, the therapist thinks to herself.

‘It is OK to have sex after a stroke. And we know that if a relationship was good prior to the stroke then there is a good prognosis for restoring a sexual relationship’, says the therapist to Les.

‘That’s great but what if my wife is worried too?’ asks Les.

‘At last, I’m getting some information’ thinks Les.

‘If you like, I could talk to you and your wife next time she visits. I could book the quiet room. Meanwhile here is a leaflet for you both to read’, replies the therapist.

‘I’ll talk it over with my wife when she comes in’, says Les.

Slide 3

‘And when you go home you can both discuss anything further with your Stroke Nurse, therapist or doctor’, continues the therapist.

‘That sounds good’, says Les.
