What treatment will help Pamela to achieve her goals?

The MDT meet with Pamela and Derek and agree her rehabilitation goals

Scene 1

Goal chair – ‘Pamela, you have decided that you would like to focus on two goals which you are having difficulty with as a result of the perceptual problems you are experiencing – can you describe these goals to us?’
Pamela – ‘Yes – I’d like to be able to go home.’

Scene 2

Chair – ‘OK, what things do you need to do to be able to get home?’
Pamela – ‘I need to be able to get up the stairs to my bedroom.’

Scene 3

Chair – ‘OK, anything else?’
Pamela – ‘I’m not sure.’

Scene 4

OT – ‘You are having problems selecting clothing and objects for daily living activities – do you think that washing & dressing might be important?’

Pamela ‘Yes – I’d like to be able to wash and dress myself every day.’

Scene 5

Dietitian – ‘You have been losing weight and some of that is due to having problems finding the right eating and drinking utensils.’
Pamela – ‘Ah yes – that’s a good goal I need to be able to feed myself every mealtime.’

Scene 6

OT – ‘You mentioned another goal which was around going bowling with Derek.’
Derek – ‘Yes we would both like to do that, wouldn’t we Pamela – do you think that’s possible?’
OT – ‘Yes, Pamela has the physical ability to do that but we can do some retraining to help her manage that goal.’
