  • Mrs McGinty’s swallow has been reviewed and she is now nil by mouth. It is likely that her chest infection was caused by aspiration.
  • IV fluids and IV antibiotics are in situ ensuring that she is adequately hydrated and receiving active treatment for her chest infection.
  • The physiotherapist has advised on the best positioning for Mrs McGinty and provides regular chest physiotherapy to help clear her secretions
  • She is receiving oxygen therapy and her oxygen saturation levels are remaining around 95%
