  • Immobility
  • Active malignancy
  • Severe leg weakness
  • Varicose veins
  • Dehydration
  • Previous DVT/PE
  • Infection

Factors which do not increase the risk

  • Fizzy drinks
  • Constipation
  • Salt
  • Fatty foods
