Visual problems are common after stroke. It is important that all staff and family are aware of the suspected visual changes.
Approach the patient and place all tasks to their left?
As we haven’t yet diagnosed the cause of the patients problems, this would be inappropriate at this stage. Doing this may be uncomfortable for the patient, may make him anxious and may also hinder his rehabilitation.
Instigate visual screening?
These patients appear to have some visual problems and their vision needs to be assessed.
