Heart Education Awareness Resource and Training through eLearning (HEARTe)

Mark returns for another consultation

Nurse: Hi, how have you been since the last time I saw you?

Mark: I’ve taken my medication as you said but I have a few worries

Nurse: I’m glad you are taking your medication you realise you will now be on this for life but it will reduce your risk of having a stroke or heart attack.

Mark: What happens now, is this all the tablets I need to take?

Nurse: We will review you on a regular basis and this review will mean getting your blood pressure checked and occasionally a blood test, depending on your results it is likely that we will adjust your medication.

Mark: I am worried about my job what does this mean?

Nurse: Your present condition does not effect your ability to drive. I would advise you to check the DVLA website as it has lots of information.

Mark: Can we have a chat about what I can do to help myself?

Nurse: Lets look at this further.
