Michał is discharged and the Dr writes to his GP here and also to his medical care team in Poland.
Michal returns to see the cardiac surgeon and has a full clinical assessment.
- Dr: Its good to see you, how are you feeling now?
- Michał: I am much better Dr, I am able to move easier and have been increasing my activities.
- Dr: Thats very positive Michal, you recovered well from your wound infection but still need to avoid strain over the sternal wound for now.
- Michał: Yes, the CR physio said that I would not be able to perform full upper body movements for 12 weeks until the sternum has healed. I have been walking a lot though.
- Dr: That sounds like good advice Michal and I’m glad you have had clear instructions.
- Michał: Yes, this operation has made me address alot of areas of my life and lifestyle I hadn’t considered before. My medication is not giving me any problem and I feel better for cutting down my alcohol and improving my diet too.
- Dr: Are you managing to attend the cardiac rehabilitation programme?
- Michał: Yes, and I am hoping to get back to the gym once I finish the programme and have visited my family. I have already been given information about beginning this gain.
